When I do these eBay Archaeology posts, it’s usually a result of me looking for something specific and going down numerous rabbit holes, and finding related stuff that I want to share with everyone. For this edition though, I intentionally went to eBay to search out Halloween-related items from the ’80s and ’90s. Here are the highlights of my dig.

The Real Ghostbusters Board Game (eBay link)
Once upon a time, like back when it was out, I was aware of the existence of this Real Ghostbusters board game. I remember wanting it back in the day, but in the many years since, it had escaped my knowledge until I was going. I’m pretty sure it was just a remodeled Which Witch game of the 1970s, but it made for a natural extension of the Real Ghostbusters line of merchandise.

Burger King’s Gargoyles Halloween Bucket (eBay link)
McDonald’s may be the fast foodies in the news right now with the return of their Halloween buckets, but they aren’t the only ones who have supplied the masses with candy buckets during the Halloween season. These Gargoyles buckets from 1995 look pretty cool, and I hate I missed out on them when they were originally offered.

McDonald’s McBoo Bags Translite Sign (eBay link)
I absolutely love McDonald’s translite signs and there are so many more out there that I want than I could ever possibly afford. This one from 1991 advertising McBoo Bags is a fine example of this. I guess McDonald’s took a break from the Halloween buckets in 1991 to do these instead? I don’t know. But either way, I want one of these signs.

Hee Haw Costume (eBay link)
Last year at this time, I did an eBay Archaeology dig of old Ben Cooper costumes. I found some odd ones, but nothing as good as this one. I was a fan of Hee Haw when I was growing up…hell, I’m still a fan come to think of it. But I don’t believe I was ever a big enough fan to wear this thing. The mask itself though would be a great addition to Bray Wyatt’s WWE character. Instead of his minions wearing sheep masks, put these things on them and they would be a lot scarier.

MOTU Scareglow Action Figure (eBay link)
Scareglow came along at the tale end of the original MOTU action figure run, and thus, was not as easy to find as most figures. I don’t think I even knew about the figure when it was originally released due to being all in on G.I. Joe by that point in time. But looking at the line as a whole, Scareglow was certainly one of the coolest figures they had to offer.

WCW Halloween Havoc ’91 VHS (eBay link)
Oh how I miss the old WCW Halloween Havoc events. It was my third favorite yearly event behind Starrcade and the Great American Bash. Then the first event aired in 1989, it was such a big deal to me that I still remember the details of the day even now. I even wrote about it last year. This 1991 edition of the spectacular was pretty fun too with the attraction of the Chamber of Horrors match, that even though is panned widely online, is still one of my favorite matches in the events long history. Throw in the fact this one is a VHS edition and you’ve got a recipe for something I long for.

Vintage Halloween Flashlight (eBay link)
These things have been around for ages, and I’ve always wanted one. Don’t ask me why, but I just always thought they were so cool looking. Even years when most of my friends had one, I still never did. I’m going to rememdy that this year by picking one of these up.
So theres a few spooky themed things from the past that I dug up on eBay. Hopefully they brought back some old memories for you.
