Retro Revival Blog Challenge

Retro Revival Blog Challenge

The Retro Revival is a free-wheeling, fun loving gang of retro pop culture fans who come together each week to write about a shared topic.  We link to, and cross-promote each other to introduce new readers to our sites.

The Low-Down

Each week on Monday, I post a new topic here on Retro Ramblings.  The topics will be centered mostly around a retro theme to get your mind going back in time a little bit.  Anyone who is interested, and has a blog, website, YouTube channel, or social media account can contribute to the weekly topic, and respond by the following Sunday.  Once the article, blog post, video, or whatever is posted, the writer must leave a comment on the topic page along with a URL to his/her article.

If you are posting a response via social media, be sure to tag it with the hashtag, #RetroRevival (and you may also want to tag me on Twitter @yesterdayville) to ensure that I don’t miss it.

Every blog that contributes to the weekly topic should include links to some of the other contributing sites.  This is optional, but the more people who do this, the more traffic will be generated for all of us.  There is a distinct advantage to getting your post up earlier in the week, but don’t feel like you need to rush your post.

Benefits of participating in the Retro Revival Blog Challenge

  1.  You Will Gain and Increase in Traffic – Once you have your post written, a link to it will appear here on Retro Ramblings, and then other contributing sites will add links to it as well.
  2.  You Will Gain New Readers – While increasing your blog’s traffic, you may also be introducing new readers to your site.  If you are posting good content consistently, and new visitors see this, they will see a reason to continue coming back again and again.
  3.  You Will Gain New Links Back to Your Site – New links will increase your ability to get traffic.  Not only from other participating blogs, but also from the rest of the internet as well, thanks to the search engines.
  4.   Fresh Ideas – Sometimes we bloggers have a hard time coming up with an idea to write about.  By participating in the Retro Revival Blog Challenge you will get a new idea to consider each week, and will hopefully see an increase in your traffic due to the new flux of inbound links to your site.

How to Join the Retro Revival

Joining the Revival is really simple.  All you need is a blog, website, YouTube Channel, Facebook, or Instagram account.  Send me an email (yesterdayville@gmail.com) to let me know you want to take part, and then watch our site here at RetroRamblings.com for the topic to be posted each Monday.  From there, you just create your content centered on the topic, and leave a comment with your link in the topic post each week.  It’s fun and rewarding!
