From this point of the year up until Christmas is the best time of the year for new junk food. It’s starting to hit stores now at a pretty good clip, and here’s what I found while in stores today. Oh, and if you missed the stuff I found last week, you can check all of it out in this post.
Monster Mash Cereal & Other Monster Cereals!
Well, this was obviously the big find of the trip, as I’ve been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the classic box Monster Cereals and the new Monster Mash. Unfortunately, there was no sign of the new Monster Mash fruit snacks, but I will continue to be on the hunt for them. Holy cow, those retro boxes are just so damn beautiful.
New Brach’s Candy Corn Flavors!
While I’m not a huge fan of candy corn these days, I am very intrigued by these newer flavors. That Caramel Apply one looks really tempting.
Orange Halloween Pop Rocks!
I don’t think there’s anything special about this really other than the Halloween packaging. Otherwise, it appears to just be orange Pop Rocks. But hey, Pop Rocks are great, so I’m fine with them giving us another fun treat for the Halloween season.
Orange and Black Junior Mints “Spooky Mints”!
Junior Mints andYork Peppermint Patties aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I really dig them. Much like the Pop Rocks, I don’t think anything is changing with the flavor of these things, but they’ve obviously put some effort into changing the color of the mint centers in them and in the packaging, so kudos to them for spicing things up to celebrate the season.
Haribo Gummi Sour Vampire Bats!
My daughters are the sour candy lovers in our family, and they got really excited seeing these today. While I like gummis in general, the sour ones don’t really do anything for me, but I’m sure we’ll eat more than our fair share of them this season.
Pumpkin Spice Chocolate Pumpkin!
So I’m sure we’ve all seen the break apart chocolate oranges at Christmas, but this was the first year I’ve seen these break apart chocolate pumpkins. I don’t know if I’m excited or hesitant about the pumpkin spice flavor mixed with chocolate. But I guess there’s only one way to find out!
Little Debbie Pumpkin Delights Cookies!
Little Debbie calls them cookies, but I call them cakes…delicious cakes! These things have been a staple of my fall and Halloween seasons since I can remember, and I’ll probably go through a half dozen boxes or more gefore they disappear from store shelves.
So that’s everything I came across today, but I’m absolutely sure there will be plenty more as the season starts to kick into high gear over the rest of the month. Keep your eyes right here on Retro Rambling for the latest finds.
