I’m sure a lot of you regular visitors and readers are wondering just what in the heck is going on here at Retro Ramblings. You’ve stopped by for your regular nostalgia fix, only to find that there is nothing here. Where are the memories of what Pizza Hut used to look like? Where are all the cool scans from old catalogs and the like? What happened to all the old comic book ads?
Well, if you haven’t heard, Jason Gross from Rediscover the 80s and myself got together and decided to launch an all-new, retro-themed multi-media network aptly named, The Retro Network. We are both pouring our nostalgic hearts and souls into this new venture, along with several other fantastic creators. Soon, you’ll be able to find all of your favorite Retro Ramblings content that you love and adore there, plus a whole lot more cool content from some of the best retro-minded creators from around the web.
It’s a massively collaborative effort that we hope will bring more value to you, the reader than we could have ever done as individual sites. Not only are there awesome articles and essays like you’ve always found here, but there are videos and podcasts as well, plus a few more very cool features coming that I can’t talk about just yet.
Along with my usual, nostalgia-laden essays that I call ramblings, my Retro Rewind YouTube show is prominently featured there. There’s also the aforementioned Jason Gross of Rediscoverthe80s.com fame with his essays and articles, Hoju Koolander with his always awesome essays and his SequelQuest podcast. In addition, two old favorites here at Retro Ramblings, Eric Vardeman and Brandon Leftridge are also contributing to TRN. And if that weren’t enough, we’ve got Michael from Words Seem Out of Place. And if that weren’t enough, there are also several other contributors.
Now, this site isn’t going away. I’ll still be posting here at Retro Ramblings, but the focus is changing a little bit. The vast majority of my retro and nostalgia-laced essays will be featured over at TRN, but I’ll be using this space for more personal and all around stuff. Like this past weekend, I was lazy and laid around and watched five movies. I’ll be discussing and reviewing those here. I’ll probably also do a fair amount of TV talk here going forward, and share other stuff that is loosely associated with my normal nostalgia rants.
So to sum up, I really hope you continue to read and enjoy the essays I put out over at The Retro Network, and I also hope you continue to follow along here as well for some stuff that I hope will entertain you as well.
