Retro Halloween Specials You Can Stream on Youtube

As we get closer and closer to Halloween, I find myself wanting to watch more and more old Halloween stuff. A great source for that old Halloween stuff is Youtube, which probably comes as no surprise. Through the years I’ve searched out and come across numerous Halloween treasures. I thought it would be good if I shared some of the stuff I’ve found with you so you can enjoy them too this Halloween season. Check them all out below, and if you know of something I’ve missed, drop it in the comments for everyone else to check out.

Once Upon a Midnight Scary with Vincent Price (1979)

Once Upon a Midnight Scary is a 1979 television program that aired as part of a CBS television anthology series. The program, hosted by noted actor Vincent Price, features scenes from three stories, including The Ghost Belonged to Me by Richard Peck, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving, and The House with a Clock in its Walls by John Bellairs.

Marc Summer’s Magical Mystery Tour (1988)

Marc Summers’ Mystery Magical Tour is a 1988 Halloween special that aired on Nickelodeon.

So there are a few classic old Halloween videos from the ’70s and ’80s. There is no video of my personal favorite Halloween special from the ’80s, but you can read all about Tom & Jerry’s TBS Funhouse Halloween Special in a post I wrote last year. It does feature video of the bumpers that were used in the special though.

And like I said at the top, drop your suggestions for old Halloween stuff from Youtube that you’ve found for the rest of us to enjoy.

  1. Seen some of these, like Once Upon a Midnight Scary last year, but thanks for the others! Hope you had a great Halloween!

  2. Great selection! I’ve always been a fan of Marc Summer’s Mystery Magical Tour. It’s cheesy and hokey and really embodies the late 80’s/early 90’s Nick.

Recently, I’ve been watching Ernest Scared Stupid on YouTube.
